I have upgraded my graphics card to a 4060ti 16gb, and upgraded my cooling to noctua fans, and all works great. Time to upgrade the RAM i figured, so i was thinking i would throw some midrange 6000mhz memory in my PC…figured i would make sure its compatible since this PC is kindof a nightmare…nope, seems like this PC wont boot if you try to put RAM like that in. So it looks like i have to spend a fortune on some super slow 4800 mhz ram..so i am not happy at all! Is this true? Seems like a racket to me, i just want to get up to 32gb without having to spend more for something slow and hideous that looks like it came out of my work desktop…when i could spend that same amount of money on some of the fastest ram on the market. If anyone is reading and considering a predator orion 3000…DO NOT BUY! The only upside to buying this PC is that it is so trash that it has forced me to become more experienced with computers, to the point of where it should be no problem to build my own.

The 3000 series do not have overclocking in the BIOS so avoid modules with XMP profile.

4800 MHz RAM is considered fast.

Thanks man, i appreciate it. This is incredibly frustrating tho. Its 100+ dollars for 32gb of this 4800mhz office desktop unshrouded ugly ram. its not like i wanted fancy RGB ram, i just wanted decent speeds and at least somewhat decent looking. I could be getting 2x16gb 6400mhz ram for $100. but nope. Im guessing if i plug in non-XMP ram at 6000mhz my PC either wont boot or it will be kneecapped back down to 4800

    Here's an Amazon offering that's well under $100 for 32GB of DDR5.
