Tried win ctrl shift B. It takes input like fn+f9 so i think it thinks its working, so it might just be a display issue? Tried turning off and on about 20 times, it showed acer logo once randomly and then black screen again.

    Which exact model Aspire VX15 do you have, as it can mean allot of models, I will use the model VX5-591G as an example, as and if you can't get a proper boot do a Hard Reset, by turning off the laptop, take the back cover off, take the main battery out, disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and then shot the +&- pins at the mainboard plug for 2 sec to reset CMOS, take the ram out and leave the laptop like that for 1 hour (preferably overnight) afterwards reconnect everything and reboot, as this resets the EC and chipset chips so that your laptop should boot properly and 100%. If your laptop stil dosent boot, then you have an image issue which could be a shorted eDP cable, screen which you need a tech to analyze and fix. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    Hi thanks for replying. Yes the model is VX5-591G, I wasn't aware that there were other types of VX 15.

    First I used DDU to completely uninstall display drivers, and then reinstalled them too from the official Nvidia/Intel sources but that didn't do anything.

    I tried reinstalling windows early on and that fixed it for one "session", like a few hours, until it went to sleep or something and never woke up again. Basically I thought it was all fixed by reinstalling windows, so I used it, left the room eventually, came back, and….black screen. This was before any internal changes/resets were made, with the battery and everything connected.

    I then tried all of that hardware techniques you mentioned except "shorting the +/- pins at the mainboard plug". Instead I held the power button for 30sec after disconnecting everything, which is supposed to drain it I think so that should be the same thing (? could easily be completely wrong here). I also didn't leave it for one day, I tried immediately after instead.

    The eDP cable is fine (I believe) because I found out that the laptop works 100% well on AC power when I disconnect the battery and just let it run on the adapter. In fact I am typing this on the laptop now. But when I put the battery back it tends to black-screen again, so for now I'm just using it plugged in 24/7 like a desktop.

    Please help me if you have any other ideas! Much appreciated.

    Edit: forgot to mention I could use it 100% with an external display (HDMI cable to my TV) even with the battery inside. I could use that display to go into safe mode, winRE, anything.

    Try to update the BIOS to see if it resolves the black screen issue

    Tried, both the "resolve black screen" issue and the most recent issue, neither worked :(

    @Milad123

    Does the issue have any differences between AC adapter unplugged and plugged in? (Battery is still connected for both scenarios)
