recently changed from FTTC to FTTP, however on my Acer Aspire 3 i5, I am getting better wifi speeds on the original FTTC connection (around 60mps), other devices are getting the full 150mps on the fibre, (so its no the wifi)

any advice welcome.

is there any settings that needs adjusting on the acer aspire 3? (only getting 20mps at moment)

What exact Aspire 3 model laptop and what Wi-Fi/BT card is in your laptop, as there are many different models with different Wi-Fi/BT cards. Isd it an Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX101 or an Intel AC9560 as there are differences between a 2.4/5G and a 2.4/5/6/6E Wi-Fi card. But even a slower an AC-xxxx Wi-Fi card should not be running at 20mps, as it could be a driver issue that needs updating or reinstalling (use the oem wifi Acer driver provided for your card) then go into Device Manager and delete the oem Wi-Fi driver at Network adapters and reboot the laptop, see if that rejuvenates the Wi-Fi driver to its full speed if not then reinstall the oem drive completely.

If the above doesn't work, you need to see if the card is seated properly into its slot and if its antenna white/black wires are fully connected as that could have a bearing on the speed also, if all that is ok then it could be the card, but a Wi-Fi card very rarely goes wrong. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

thanks very much for the reply. I've got aspire 3 A315 58 58F3, model no N20C5

the wifi card is MediaTek 802.11AC MT7663 Wireless LAN Card

its window 11, can anyone provide further guidance on where to find the driver for my card and how to delete the oem driver referred to in the reply above?

    thanks in advance
