Acer XZ272UV Monitor no audio

I purchased this monitor and the box and the online tech specs say that it has speakers. I have tried to use both HDMI and DisplayPort, update drivers, reboot. No audio comes out. The hud that appears has an option for audio and it is turned up to 100 and mute is off. I have searched for other posts and they all end with saying "unsure if that model has speakers" which doesn't make sense given the manual and HUD. Anybody have any ideas on what to do?

Have you checked the audio source output settings in Windows 11 to make sure it is set to Monitor Speakers?

Sure, here are the steps to change the audio output settings in Windows 11:
Open Settings: Press the Windows Key + I to open the settings.
Click on System: In the settings window, click on the “System” option.
Click the Sound tab: In the system settings, click on the “Sound” tab.
Choose where to play sound: Under the “Output” section, click the “Choose where to play sound” setting.
Select the speakers, headphones, or headsets: In the drop-down menu, select the speakers, headphones, or headsets you want to use.
You can also set the default output device for a specific application:
Open Settings: Press the Windows Key + I to open the settings.
Click on System: In the settings window, click on the “System” option.
Click the Sound tab: In the system settings, click on the “Sound” tab.
Click Volume mixer: Under the “Advanced” section, click the “Volume mixer” setting.
Select the app: Under the “Apps” section, select the app you want to set the default audio output device for.
Use the Output device setting: Use the “Output device” setting to select a different output device.
