Hi Acer Team and Acer Community,

I would like to ask if it is "really true" that my laptop Nitro AN515-58 can be powered or charged by a USB Type C 65W Power Delivery Charger. Because I researched this laptop before buying it. For the reason that I can use a 65W Power Delivery (PD). Which is best for travelling since I have a multi-port GAN PD charger that is supposed to charge all my devices when I travel. But unfortunately, my Acer Nitro AN515-58 cannot charge, even if I use a single type C port to dedicate power to the laptop. This is very frustrating. And I cannot even return it anymore.

Here is what your (Acer) manual states:

It is clearly stated there that a 20V 65W USB Power Delivery device can power this laptop.

It is even stated in your website.

I have these chargers (both are supposedly PD chargers) and none of these worked:

Then I checked this one Acer Adaptor:

But I cannot even find my model to "again check" for compatibility:

But I did not bother to message your Acer Team or Acer Customer Service anymore, since this will just defeat my purpose in searching for a laptop that can charge via USB Type C. So I can leave the charger that came with it at home and use my travel PD charger when I am away. That was supposedly my intent in buying this laptop in the first place.

Now I always bring my big and heavy stock charger for this laptop and my PD charger along with me whenever I travel.

So frustrating and disappointing at the same time.

I am an Acer user/fan: I have your Predator, Aspire and this Nitro 5. The others I know that I cannot use USB type C PD on them as parts limitations. But this one disheartens me.

Try a special laptop USB-C charger with a fixed thick USB-C cord tested with larger laptops, not a universal multi-port GaN PD charger as these are unable to charge under heavy load of an almost depleted battery or will take forever to charge. Don't worry exceeding the 65-Watt, TBT4 supports up to 100-Watt power delivery, these chargers will work with your laptop: https://rog.asus.com/power-protection-gadgets/chargers-and-adapters/rog-100w-usb-c-adapter-model/ and this one: https://store.acer.com/en-us/100w-adapter-kit-with-power-cord

Yes, the Acer Nitro AN515-58 can be powered or charged by a USB Type C 65W Power Delivery Charger. However, it’s important to note that while the laptop can be charged via USB-C, it may not keep up with the power demand when the laptop is on and gaming2. This is because the original power supply for the AN515-58 is either 180W, 230W, or 280W.
Please ensure that the charger you’re using is a 20V 65W USB Power Delivery device, as stated in the Acer manual. If you’re experiencing issues with charging, it might be worth reaching out to Acer’s customer service for further assistance. You can reach Acer Support in the USA at the following number: 1 (866) 695-2237. They are available 24/72. Please have your product’s serial number or SNID ready when you call. If you prefer, you can also text them for support at 1-877-220-2321, available from 5AM to 2AM CST.
