No, that doesn't do anything. But when I enabled the bootmenu in the bios (can get in there holding shift while rebooting from Windows) the external keyboard responds to F12 to show the bootmenu, the internal keyboard does nothing.

Then how'd you get into the BIOS to change its F12 boot option if the internal KB doesn't work?

I wrote it directly behind the text you quote.. "(can get in there holding shift while rebooting from Windows)" (ofcourse with the external keyboard).
But nevermind, this piece of **** will be tossed in the garbage too.

Yeah. They're 6yo budget machines. But I prolly would've tried it anyway. The culprit is often sticky crumbs & hair getting trapped under the covers. First causing intermittent issues. Then eventual board failure due to a frustrated user continually banging on its offending keys.
