I suggest that you install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant and do a scan with this software and make sure that all Intel drivers are up to date on your laptop, as the Intel Smart Sound Technology drivers have to be correctly installed and also with the Realtek Audio driver, see if a driver refresh thorough Device Manager will revive that driver, with doing this:

Go to Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers > right click on Realtek Audio > Properties > Driver > Update Driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of of available drivers on my computer > and chose Realtek Audio to reinstall the audio driver again, as that should refresh the last working audio driver on your laptop.

if the above doesn't work, then reinstall the oem Acer provided Realtek Audio Driver(ALC255&ALC256) driver version 6.0.9427.1, as all this should fix your Device Manager driver problems. Good luck.

If this answers your question and solved your query please "Click on Yes" or "Click on Like" if you find my answer useful👍

Intel's realtek audio driver is for Intel NUC mini computers only. It will not installed in Acer computers.

Acer's realtek audio driver is for Acer computers only.

This is what happens to people who tried to install Intel's realtek audio driver to "update" or "fix" problems. They dug themselves into even deeper trouble.

The Intel Driver and Support Assistant will not offer your NUC drivers, you have to manually force them to install in order to create those issues.

Intel DSA is wrong all the time.

    https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/DSA-offers-wrong-version-Wireless-Bluetooth-update-on-a-loop/m-p/1372022

The OP is in this situation because you people indiscriminately tell people to delete the driver (and magically the OS would reinstall it). Or DDU their system. Or use some magical Intel DSA app that doesn't do anything that is near the problem in the first place.

Acer's driver will include the SST driver. Intel's website doesn't post any SST driver. Somehow you are telling people to use Intel DSA app to magically find the SST driver that has been never posted on Intel's website in the first place. Do a search on Intel SST on Intel driver's website, you will get nothing.

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/search.html?ws=idsa-default#q=intel%20sst&sort=relevancy&f:@tabfilter=[Downloads]

So basically you have a ZERO chance of Intel DSA offering you a SST driver, but you have a NON-ZERO chance of Intel DSA offering you the wrong driver. Therefore it is an incorrect advice.
