Issue with broken screen and navigating BIOS to swap to SSD in Predator Helios 300 G3-571

I was trying to find the best title for the question but I'll give as much detail to the issue I'm having as I can.

So I recently started focusing more on gaming on my laptop (Acer Predator Helios 300 G3-571) relatively older machine but has treated me well and given me little to no issues in the decade I've owned it. A few years back a buddy of mine installed a new 500gb SSD for me and we lost track of time so he never got to swapping my OS onto it and getting everything setup. Fast forward to yesterday I was prepping myself to swap my OS over, so I migrated it over to the SSD and only had to boot into BIOS to change my loading drive and then be set to go.

The issue that is currently plaguing me is that my laptop screen is cracked and shows no display, so I use an hdmi and changed the settings so that it only displays on my monitor. Unfortunately I can't access BIOS efficiently as it won't cast my screen over to my monitor. I've tried changing my power settings for 'Changing what closing the lid does' and it still won't cast over, even changed the setting in windows + p to only show on 2. My laptops keyboard randomly stopped working one day, I can still use the button to power it on and press buttons to get the startup screen to scroll up so I can enter my password but other than those two functions no key presses work. I'm not sure if the laptop has one of those fn + f key buttons to change the screen it's casting on but I don't know if the keyboard being broken will be an issue or my external can take it's place.

Just wondering if I have any options to force it cast to my monitor or somehow change the boot option without needing to get into BIOS. Any and all help is appreciated, thank you!

Your Acer Predator Helios 300 G3-571 has a HDMI 2.0 port at the left side with a Data thoroughput: 18Gbps. Connect the external monitor to this HDMI port of your laptop with a HDMI 2.0 cable then do this:

    1. Open the Power Options on your laptop.
    2. Select “Do nothing” for both drop-down menus under “When I close the lid”.
    3. Close your laptop lid.
    4. The desktop will display on both the laptop and external monitor.

You can also configure your laptop to use an external display as the primary monitor by following these steps:

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Click on System.
    3. Click the Display page on the right side.
    4. Use the drop-down menu and select the “Show only on 2” option.

Good luck and hope this helps you out.

I appreciate the response. As I stated earlier in my post I've tried changing the closing lid option to do nothing as well as also changing the display setting to only show on 2. BIOS forces the laptop to use the screen so I need to somehow completely disable the screen output or override it and force it to cast to my monitor. After doing what you stated above I turned the laptop on and even closed the lid right away but it still wouldn't cast over to my external monitor.

To disable the Predator G3-571 screen you need to open the laptop up and first unplug the main battery and charger barrel plug from the laptop, this is very important because if you don't do this then you will damage your laptop. Then disconnect the eDP cable at the mainboard and the screen end. Then assemble everything and try to use the external monitor.

The disconnection of the eDP cable is a fairly complex thing to do and you need to be computer savvy and have experience in opening laptops and where these component and cables are, so I suggest if you don't have that experience to take your laptop to an experienced technician that has.
