Hi, recently got the ‘23 model Aspire 7 with 8GB. I’m looking at getting another 8. Mine states 1Rx8 PC4-3200AA. The one I’ve found and suggest it’s compatible with my laptop, is the Crucial 8GB 1Rx8 PC4-25600. It states it’s 3200MHz. Just wondering if this is the right one for the job? If not, can someone explain and/or be so kind as to point me in the right direction please.

To run at maximum clock speed 2667MHz in Dual Channel mode, you need to have 2 identical SODIMMs, either get a new kit from Crucial: 2 x 8GB-3200MHz that you mention above or add another identical 8GB DDR4 that you have installed now, DDR4 2400/2666MHz, standard JEDEC, single rank, is recommended by Acer for model A715-75 (Ryzen5 5500 u).

Thanks for the reply. Just to add to it though, mine isn’t a ryzen, it’s intel i5-12450H. Does it make any difference to the recommended?

What is the exact Aspire 7 model laptop you have, install CPUz and have a look the SPD section for your laptops oem Acer fitted ram and look at the ram part number and get an exact additional 8GB DDR4 ram module that is fitted to your laptop,

if your oem ram is DDR4-3200MHZ then that is the fastest ram for your laptop, don't fit DDR4-2666MHz as its allot slower. Ram is a very simple thing to upgrade and get right, as the Acer laptops like the Aspire 7 do not work with XMP or overclocked ram which Corsair, Kingston or SG skill make and push as a super doper ram that you must have, as its a gimmick, Acer only uses standard ram in these laptops and if your laptop has DDR4-3200MHz its a CL22 type. Good luck and hope this has helped you out some more.

No difference in the RAM modules selection for Intel or Ryzen CPU.
