This product comes with a 3 foot USB-C cable. I need a longer one (6ft). I have searched and purchased many new cables but none of them work. What type of cable to I need to get? Thank you for your help!

It could be that the AOPEN 16PM1Q monitor signal is not strong enough for the 6-foot distance with a USB-C cable that you want. The maximum length of a USB-C cable depends on the transfer rate and the type of cable. According to the USB Implementers Forum, USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) cables should be at most 2 meters long, while USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) cables can reach up to 1 meter. The maximum length of a passive Thunderbolt 3 cable is around 0.8 meters at maximum 40Gbps bandwidth or 2 meters with 20Gbps bandwidth.

If you go beyond 3 meters (about 10 feet), your signal will start to degrade. The longer you extend the cable, the lower the speed and the less power it will provide.

In summary, the length of the USB-C cable does affect the image signal strength, but the maximum length depends on the transfer rate and the type of cable. If you need to extend the cable beyond the maximum length, you can use an active USB-C cable.
