The Predator PH315-53 laptop should connect to your smartphones mobile hotspot perfectly, the Wi-Fi/BT card that your Predator has is a Killer AX1650i Wi-Fi/BT card, and this card is a sort of a problematic card, you don't need to roll the driver back to the Win-8.1 as that is why its not working and it will never work.

Unfortunately, Acer does not have an oem Wi-Fi driver for the AX1650i Wi-Fi for your Predator PH315-53 which is strange, but they have an oem Bluetooth driver version 22.10.0.2 so install that and then install the latest Wi-Fi version 22.250.0 driver as it should work. I've got the same Killer AX1650i card fitted oem by Acer into my Nitro 5 AN515-56 laptop and the only problem I've had with this card is in its Bluetooth section, where the Bluetooth only works with the Intel driver version 22.40.0.2 driver that Acer provides as an oem driver, but the Wi-Fi works with the latest Intel driver version 22.250.0, so try this driver as it should work 100% with this card abd should make the KIller AX1650i card pair with your smartphone. Good luck
