Hi there All,

My Desk Top reboots several times in a day without reason.

Event viewer has the following:

After 3 warning events with the following text: "A provider, IntelMEProv, has been registered in the Windows Management Instrumentation namespace root\Intel_ME to use the LocalSystem account. This account is privileged and the provider may cause a security violation if it does not correctly impersonate user requests.", Logon recovery event starts.

Corrections done so far: Please see driver versions installed:

under - Software Components/Installed Intel Management Engine WMI Provider
and under - System devices/Intel Management Engine Interface
in the attached DeviceManager.gif

I have installed drivers from Intel web site: Please see attached IntelDriverInstall.gif

Can some knowledgeable person suggest --detailed steps-- to remove this error please? ....

Intel MEI won't cause crashes, warnings at the most (very common). I suspect a rogue driver or system corruption, boot to Safe Mode in Windows (Shift+Restart and click on Troubleshoot-advanced-Restart F4), if no crashing in Safe Mode you have to disable the non-Windows Services and Safe or Clean Boot with MSconfig. https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-troubleshoot-your-windows-with-the-msconfig-utility/ Also refresh the system image and repair the system files with the Command Prompt opened as administrator: Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and after completion: SFC /scannow
