Heats up a lot/ swift edge SFA16-41 R7SU

Even with normal page scrolling it starts to warm up to 50 C and accordingly makes a lot of noise. Especially the laptop heats up (up to 82 C) when just scrolling YouTube. Even without watching any video.
The latest driver for the video card is installed. I lowered the screen resolution, but it doesn't help.

I don't have this problem even on my old 7 year old laptop.

Can you tell me what you can do about it?

    This model has two powerful cooling fans to keep the unit from overheating, open Acer Quick Access that has fan control called "System Usage Mode" and set the Fan speed to performance mode.

    This model Swift Edge SFA16-41-R7SU Laptop comes with the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U cpu and the graphics is the cpu's integrated graphics the Radeon™ 680M type, and it has a 1x fan and very inadequate thermal module to keep this cpu cool. hence and why the cpu overheats, you need to change the paste to a high-end paste like the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme paste and put some MINUS PAD 8 that are self-adhesive onto the VRAM cicatrices and the M.2 SSD drives, that get tremendously hot as that will assist your laptop to run cooler and its fan to not be triggered to run. Try that as that is what I've done to my Swift X SFX14-51G that its VRAM and M.2 SSD drives very hot and putting therml pads has dissipated that heat tremendously. Good luck and hopr this helps you out.

    Looking at the layout, it isn't difficult to imagine that the proximity of the M.2 SSD slot to the CPU cooler heatpipe has the potential to radiate and concentrate "heat" into cooling system area.

    Add here:

    • Acer laptops equipped with AMD Ryzen processors with outdated AGESA e SMU microcodes;
    • More the Windows 11, which in my opinion is one of the worst OS released in recent times.

    So we have a perfect combination of problems and a lot heat! 😅

    I don't know anything about the processor. But kinda like the new productive one should be.
    I installed Ubuntu in parallel. Everything there is just as hot as in Windows

    Thanks for the advice.
    But it's very strange to buy a new laptop and have to finish it yourself.
    There's no warranty if I open up my laptop, right?

    That depends on where you are located. Warranties are different in each country. Best to contact Acer support for the overheating issues and see if they can fix it for you.
