I bought an acer nitro 5, 1.5 years ago and it was working perfectly but recently it got some issues with its fans. The issue was that the fans weren’t working and needed replacement, I got them replaced from an acer service centre. But after replacing they reapplied the thermal paste. And there after my laptop started overheating like the idle temperature of cpu is 91 degrees and also performance reduced extremely like in games like valorant i am getting 100-20fps(unstable) instead of 144. I dont know whats happening I haven’t turned on my laptop for more than 1 hour in past 20 days, I even reset it but nothing solved. I dont know whats happening please help as I am having my placements this year

Send your Nitro laptop back to the Acer Service Centre as that should not be happening, they must have done something wrong or haven't replaced the thermal paste properly onto the cpu/gpu and the thermal module, as the laptop should not be at 91C at idel, a normal functioning Nitro laptop its temps at idle should be 45C cpu and 35C gpu at room temp of 17C (62F) and at room temp of 27C (80F) at about 55C cpu and 45C gpu. Those are the temps that I'm getting on my 2 years old Nitro 5 laptop and I've changed the paste 1 year ago to Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme paste and their KryoSheet graphene thermal pads. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

I did sent it back to the service center but they were saying (without checking the cpu and gpu) that this problem is caused by a motherboard issue like something has melted so use it as it is repairing will cause more damage.

Yes, that means that they have probably found that the mainboard has components that they can't replace as they are not available as Acer does not supply circuitry parts for these laptops when they break, if a mosat or a specialist part like a cpu or gpu or a chipset needs repaving then you can't buy these components from Acer and you need to buy a new mainboard.

So shall I try repasting the laptop myself or just use it as it is?
