Hello,

I'm facing issues enabling Secure Boot on my Acer Nitro AN515-58 laptop. Despite following the BIOS/UEFI instructions, the option seems locked or unchangeable. Understanding the importance of Secure Boot for system security and proper functioning of certain security-sensitive applications, I'm reaching out for assistance. Running Windows 11, Secure Boot is crucial for some software operations. Attempts at resetting the BIOS/UEFI haven't been successful, raising concerns about potential impacts on my current GNU GRUB boot configuration.

Could you guide me through the necessary steps to resolve this issue, or inform me if a BIOS update or technical support intervention is needed?

Thank you in advance for your help and support.

You need first to set a Supervisor Password in BIOS, accurately write down that password (losing it will mean a trip to Acer Services), save settings and exit. Reboot to BIOS with F2 and change Secure Boot to Standard. If it was already set to Standard Secure Boot is active. Remove the BIOS Supervisor password immediately save settings and exit.

Thank you for your guidance on the Secure Boot issue. I've already set up Secure Boot in the BIOS, and it shows as active there, but it still appears to be deactivated in the MSInfo32 panel on Windows. This discrepancy is quite puzzling. I followed your instructions to set a Supervisor Password, adjusted the Secure Boot setting to 'Standard', and then removed the password as advised. Despite these steps, it seems there's still a mismatch between the BIOS setting and what's displayed in Windows. Any further insights or steps I could take to resolve this inconsistency would be greatly appreciated.
