I have a new Aspire 3 15. Why does the volume need to be so high (60s and 70s) to hear normally?

I have a new Aspire 3 15 that seems to have low volume for the settings. I have to increase the volume into the 60s and 70s to hear what normally plays in the 30s on my other computers.

Is this a driver issue? Or something in the system can be reset?

The Realtek audio ALC255 chipset used in Aspire 3 up a515 laptops is low-end that produces low volume with poor quality sound (no bass) on the cheap internal speakers. To mitigate that, change the True Harmony settings in RTK Audio Console-Speakers from Music to Movie and in Windows Sound settings-speakers-properties-advanced enable Enhancements. In Windows Media Player if you right click on the opened WMP screen you will see Equalizer that can boost the volume with 12db. Best to use a good headset or external speakers with a build-in amplifier.

    Hello Puraw,

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, I do not have the selections you suggested to adjust the volume on my laptop.

I saw the Acer Community / Group comment at the top of my page stating how to change my Avatar, but I cannot change the Avatar as the selections suggested are not there.

The statement says to hover over my username at the top right, but there is no username showing until I hover over the default Avatar. Then when hovering over the Avatar, my username pops up, but I cannot select it, as once I roll off of the Avatar, my username goes away.

The statement also says while hovering over the Avatar, click Change Picture, and select from over 100 Avatars. This does not work, because as I just stated, while hovering over the default Avatar, my username pops up to the right of the Avatar, but I cannot select it as it goes away when coming off of the Avatar.
