my Acer Nitro 5 is not charging. It is staying at the same percentage while using, and if i close my laptop and open it again after a few days, the charge goes down. The led light on the side says it is plugged in so im assuming my laptop recognizes the charger. I am not sure if this is an issue with my laptop or my charger. I have tried disabling and enabling the battery in the device manager and also tried restarting my laptop to no avail. i have tried plugging my charger into a different outlet as well. Let me know if anyone has any idea whats going on or any suggestions. Am i going to have to take it to get repaired? The charger is also the one that came with my laptop so it is not third party.

NOTE: its pretty hard to advise you precisely on this issue if you don't give us the exact Nitro 5 model number that you have, as there are many Nitro 5 laptop models!😀

Your battery icon in the taskbar, should say plugged in and charging or if the charger adapter is working and the battery is charging correctly, like in the below caption where the battery is 100% and fully charged while the laptop is plugged in with the charger adapter:

If your battery is not charging then the first thing that you should look at is the charger adapter if its outputting 19V at its plug with a multimeter, second, check the battery if its charging, but if your Nitro 5 laptop has side battery indicating lights, then its an old like 2018 Nitro 5 laptop like and around or pre model number AN515-52 or 53, as the newer Nitro 5 models all have their DC-In Jack port at the back of the laptop and the indicator battery lights are at the right top of the keyboard side of the laptop.

Your laptop could also have shorted circuitry components in its main power stage that integrates the changing stage of your laptop, which needs an experienced technician to dragonize the charging fault(s) within your laptop, as you can't do anything about fixing those sorts of problems. Give us the exact model number of your Nitro 5 laptop, so that we can advise you more precisely. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

If the battery LED stays on amber when adapter is plugged in and never turns blue when not using the laptop, run a battery report in Windows and check the present capacity when 100% charged. If way down you need a new battery. Note, don't use the "Battery Charge 80%" limiting option in Acer Care Center.
