Acer Swift SF314-42 keyboard suddenly stopped working. using external keyboard. power button working

hi , my Acer Swift SF314-42 keyboard suddenly stop working, only the power button is working. i am currently using an external keyboard, but i cant use the Fn button to turn off the keyboard light as it keeps on lighting up.

can anyone suggest other way to turn it off without having to use the Fn button as my external keyboard doesnt have it.

model number: N19C4

alos, is this a common issue for Swift users? this is the first time it happened to mine.

    I haven't seen that specific failure in any yet. There is only the one cable running between the keyboard and motherboard, so the keys and the power button are part of the same wiring, although there is a separate cable for the backlight. I wonder if there's a chance they have the power button routed through the backlight cable. If that's the case then the issue is likely either in the keyboard cable or its connector. If you want to open it to check that out, there are ten screws holding the bottom case in place. Once the bottom is off disconnect the battery and then remove and replace the keyboard connector:

    The keyboard connector is C, the backlight is B.
