I am using in discrete GPU mode(optimus mode in either bios or nvidia panel), and I assuming that the NVIDIA GPU would be shut downto save. But the GPU wakes up every 30 seconds. In windows manager the gpu shows there so its not shut down. GPU always transitions from idle to active and back to idle. Interestingly, there are no visible indicators in the system tray, and I am sure that no background software is utilizing the NVIDIA GPU.

Despite ensuring that applications such as Afterburner, HWMonitor, and RTSS are all turned off , the NVIDIA GPU persists in reactivating autonomously, adversely affecting battery life. Battery life is limited to a mere 3 hours, which is terrible.

Right now, I have discovered that manually disabling the NVIDIA GPU through the Device Manager and subsequently re-enabling it forces the GPU back into an idle state. This intervention has notably increased my battery life to approximately 8 hours, or 6 hours when engaged in online activities. This time, I cannot see nvidia gpu from windows task manager.

Any better solutions.
