How to proceed with flashing uefi?

I may have malware on my uefi and am unsure the exact steps to remove it.

From what I understand I need to flash my uefi with the latest firmware by bootable means.

Question 1:

Should I use a bootable cd or usb drive? I would think that if I use a USB drive there's a chance the drive gets infected and may provide a false negative if the infection remains.

Question 2:

Do i want to remove and replace the ssd in order to ensure it doesn't spread the infection?

Is there more to it than that? Or will that get the job done?

Thanks

Flashing BIOS with a USB drive is not recommended. Acer BIOS is perfectly safe, UEFIs will not accept an update which isn't digitally signed by the manufacturer. That means it is impossible to overwrite it with arbitrary code from malware. Boot to BIOS with F2 and press F9 to reset to factory defaults, safe on exit and do a deep scan with Widows Defender. If you cannot boot to BIOS bring the PC to Acer Services in your country to reprogram the EPROM and reset the system to factory defaults. You may want to copy your files to another PC that has fully updated Windows defender and all security features enabled, remove the drive(s), mount that in an external USB case (or connect to a USB adapter-cable) and copy the files, for privacy you may want to reformat the external drive(s). Install the drives back in your PC for service.
