Aspire A715-42G-R2M7 display upgrade? Is there any viable upgrade paths for the panel?

The hardware ID for the display is AUODF87, a google search finds B156HAN02.1 as the panel model, but no specifics. Since the display isn't the greatest in color accuracy (laptopmedia found it covers 51% sRGB), I want to upgrade it. I don't really care about refresh rate or response times, but I do need a more color accurate display for working. Specifically, on-the-go, as I already have an external one to work with in my studio. Is there any viable upgrade paths for the panel?

Your Aspire A715-42Gs screen is limited to what video connector pins your Aspire A715-42G-R2M7 mainboard has, it either has 30-pins or the higher HD screens are the 40-pin screen. By the reference number that you gave of "AUODF87, a google search finds B156HAN02.1 " (see that link) that screen is a 30pin Vido connector screen that only has the resolution of 1920x1080 and a 60Hz refresher rate, that is why your image is not of a high quality, which is surprising, as a dedicated gpu prefixed Aspire 715-42G model Acer laptop, usually has an upper HD quality screen.

Check again and see if your laptops screen model is not the much higher quality screen that has the 40-pin video connector screen (which your laptop should have oem) which is the model INX - N156HRA-EA1 C1 that has a resolution of: 1920x1080 and a refresher rate of 144Hz that can be upgraded to a 165Hz refresher rate screen and NOT the screen that you quoted above which is a very basic and low quality screen.

Note: If you have the AUO B156HAN02.1 - 30-pin video connector - 1920x1080 - 60Hz refresher rate screen then the best thing for you to do is to buy an external HD quality monitor and connect your Aspire A715-42G-R2M7 to an external screen with a HDMI cable. All below caption shows all the Vendor/Model name screens fitted to the A715-42G laptops by Acer, the 40-pin video connector - 1920x1080 resolution - 144 to 165Hx refresher rate screen is the highlighted screen model the rest are all 60Hz refresher rate lower quality screens. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

So I checked the store page for the laptop, and it doesn't claim a high refresh rate. Regardless, I also opened up the computer recently to upgrade my device from 8 to 16gb of RAM, and didn't spot the larger, 40-Pin connector. I'll have to open it again.

For now, let's assume that I have the 30-pin because I have never had access to higher refresh rates in my Windows settings. I don't really care about that, anyways, I only need reliable color accuracy when I am not at my studio and working with my calibrated display. Is there any viable upgrade on that specific sector for this pinout?

Thank you anyways for taking the time to answer in the first place.

If you have a 30pin connector screen, the only option is to buy a 30pin video connector to 40pin video connector from Amazon (see below) and get the higher refresher rate 40pin video connector screen model N156HRA-EA1 C1 screen which has a Resolution: FHD (1920x1080) and a Refresh Rate:144Hz and is USD $75.99. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
