I have had my Acer Swift 3 (SF314-57-75YP) for about 3 1/2 years. A few days ago, out of nowhere it just wouldn't do anything anymore when pressing the power button, trying to turn it on.

I have looked at other post on this forum and tried the Power Drain procedure (where you are inserting a clip into the small hole on the back). However this has done nothing. Also when the Laptop is plugged in, other devices are not charging via the USB-A ports of my laptop. At the beggining the charging LED would still light on, when I plugged the laptop in, but now nothing lights up anymore, regardless of what I do.

I would be very greatful for any ideas what I can try or suggestions what the problem could be. I am happy to clarify anything I have described above, if it is not clear what I meant.

Thank you

Also to add: The Laptop has not made any noise (like fan turning on etc.) or something like that when pressing the power button. No reaction to anything.

The battery likely died, 3½ years could be the end for a laptop battery if drained to zero often. Before buying a new battery try this:
Power drain + CMOS reset: Open the back of the laptop and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Locate the CMOS module (with 2 Red and Black wires, see picture) and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS capsule for 2 seconds with a bended paperclip and put the coin battery back with the + sign facing up, close the CMOS capsule. Next, press the Power Button on the keyboard for 10-15 seconds after that reconnect the battery cable to the motherboard. Close the laptop, plug-in the adapter and try to boot.

Also and if a hard reset like the RTC/BIOS battery disconnection and a main new battery change doesn't fix your problem then a laptop that is completely dead and will not turn on should be looked at by an experienced technician as its main power rail and its circuitries like capacitors, resistors or mosfet are shorted which is in the vicinity of the DC-in jack where the adapter is plugged into the laptop (see circled caption below) if its not within this area then you need to chase the main power rail circuit and check other circuitries as it could even be and go as far as either the cpu or the laptop chipset, which if it is, then its a terminal fault that can't be fixed and you will need a new mainboard. Take your laptop to either Acer Tech Support in your area or to an experienced technician as your laptop has a complex fault that you will not be able to fix.

Just in case your cpu or chipset have burned out and you need to replace the mainboard for your Acer Swift 3 (SF314-57-75YP), below are 3 of the only mainboards that Acer has for your laptop with the i7-1065 CPU and the integrated cpu Iris Plus G7 4GB graphics for your laptop model, which are the most suitable boards, the Acer part numbers are highlighted. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.
