Acer aspire A315-58 random shutdown after bios update, at times it would take multiple bootup
Tinkerer
Ive just updated my acer 3 A315-58 to the latest bios update (V1.35).
after the update, my laptop randomly shuts down, at times it would take multiple bootup just to eventually get the login screen.
How do I go about reflashing the bios via flash as it refuses to install the bios via its executable.

Try to boot to BIOS with F2 and in BIOS press F9 (reset), save settings on exit and reboot.

Try this:
There is a small pinhole in the back of your laptop (with a battery symbol), stick a pin in that hole till you feel it click (micro switch), keep pressing the pin for a few seconds. This will reset the battery. Try to boot to BIOS and reset with F9 in BIOS, save settings on exit.Power drain + CMOS reset: Open the back of the laptop and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Locate the CMOS module (with 2 twisted wires Red and Black) and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS capsule for 2 seconds with a bended paperclip and put the coin battery back with the + sign facing up, close the CMOS capsule. Unseat the DDR4 module and firmly secure it back in the slot. Next, press the Power Button on the keyboard for 10-15 seconds after that reconnect the battery cable to the motherboard. Close the laptop, plug-in the adapter and try to boot.

How old is the battery, 2½ years? does the amber battery LED come on when you plug in the adapter?
If the amber LED never turns blue and the power adapter and battery are still good, you may have a HW issue, I recommend bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country or replace the adapter and battery.

power indicator is blue. battery indicator is amber which says its charging. the laptop is almost 2 years.
I guess Ill have to book it for a bios reflash.

Yes, that would be best, but the amber battery LED should turn blue when fully charged after a few hours, if that stays amber there is another issue besides BIOS.
