I have had my ACER SPIN 3 since October 2020. At the same time I purchased and extended protection plan from Asurion. When I first received the laptop all was great but within a week or two every time I plugged in the lap top to charge it the plug would beep and beep . When I touch the plug it is loose. Imagine, how you connect your cell phone to the charging cord. If you don't connect then you don't charge. Same thing here. The plug would not connect. I ended up returning the laptop to Acer twice for this issue…then after the Acer warranty expired, I have sent it to Asurion 4 times for the same issue. Both Acer and Asurion have replace the battery and Acer sent me a new power cord. The problem continues even today . If I want to sit on the bed or in my recliner to work on the laptop I have to make sure that if I have to charge the laptop I can position it so my knee can push the power cord in. One slight move and I am no longer charging. So with a prior service by Acer would they work on the laptop to fix this issue? Currently Asurion says they can not diagnose the issue. They are not listening … I would love to speak with a technician. However if I can still get service on the laptop from Acer since it is a prexisting issue they worked on before . If any one knows please let me know.

What is your full Spin3 model (SP314-54N?) and are you charging with; an AC "brick" power adapter and DC round barrel plug or with a USB-C charger and a regular USB-C cable, what kind of power cord did Acer send you (AC 3-pin power-in for the "brick" adapter?), please provide more details for both if you are using 2 different chargers, to me this sounds you are not using the correct one,

HI, As for using the correct charging/power cord. I have three in total. They are all exactly the same. One is a replacement sent from Acer when they returned the laptop. One is from Asurion and one is the original that came with the laptop. The problem is not the cord because all three have the same problem. They do not correctly fit the charging port. Every time I send it in, they run their diagnostics and all is well. The problem is not something a diagnostic would find. They don't understand that the slightest movement will cause the cord to move and not stay connected . It may or may not completely fall out but it beeps and beeps. The cord is a 2 part section … there is a "brick" attached to laptop side of the cord. The wall side has a 3 hole plug that attaches to the AC adapter. All three cords are the same..

You still haven't told us which Spin 3 model you have. There have been a bunch of different ones over the years and we can't give really good suggestions without knowing which you have. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SP3xx-xxx-xxxx. Some models support USB-C charging and that might work better for you.

Sorry I am simply so frustrated I forget what I am doing. Here is the label on the laptop. By the way I shipped it back to Asurion again Tuesday because, the laptop was down to 14% charge. I plugged in the cord, finished my project...about 30 mins more. Closed all windows and app. I had opened. Was still at 14%.

Closed the laptop. In the morning it still had not charged.

It would not come on. When I turnthe unit on the first thing I see is the keyboard will light up and the the Acer logo appears on the screen. This time nothing.

Who know what Asurion will do now. If I can't see the battery on the r the power lights the how do you know it is charging. Now the battery was holding the 11 hr xharge…not now and they kept the stylus that came with the unit. If I had the money I would replace this laptop and hopefully find a better extended Accident and Tech support plan. On the Photo if you can zoom in to ss it better. The pic is old and the best I have. I believe the model is something like Acer Spin 3 14 54N

Yeah, the model number is a SP314-54N-50W?, I can't make out that last digit, but the SP314-54N should be close enough. You have two different ways you can charge your laptop. The stock charger uses a 3mm round barrel connector with a 65W charger at 19V. You can also use the USB-C/TBT3 port on the left side next to the regular charging port. You need to use a 65W or larger USB-C power supply that provides 20V. I'm guessing you are going to have better luck with the USB-C, since it's easier to keep the connector fully seated.
