this started happening a few days ago when i was playing a fps game that ive been playing on this laptop for a long while now and when i started it up it would turn on for a small amount of time then would beep and shut off and an orange light would appear over the battery light on the built in keyboard, what i normally do is i hold the power button down for 15 seconds the light changes from orange to blue and i power it on like normal and it runs perfectly fine while running chrome and other simple applications but when i try to play games that this computer has ran perfectly fine for well almost a year now it will shut off after about 10-15 mins and i have no idea what the issue is and how i can try to troubleshoot it any suggestions?

It sounds like your Acer Aspire Nitro AN515-51 is experiencing some issues, especially when running resource-intensive applications like games. Here are a few suggestions to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

    1. Check for Overheating:
      • Make sure that the laptop's vents and fans are not blocked by dust or debris. Overheating can lead to shutdowns to protect the system.
      • Consider using a cooling pad to help dissipate heat during gaming sessions.
    2. Update Graphics Drivers:
      • Ensure that your graphics drivers are up-to-date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause instability.
      • Visit the official Acer support website or the website of the graphics card manufacturer to download the latest drivers.
    3. Power Settings:
      • Check your power settings to ensure that the laptop is not set to power off or go to sleep during gaming.
      • Adjust the power plan settings to maximize performance while plugged in.
    4. BIOS Update:
      • Check if there are any BIOS updates available for your laptop on the Acer support website. Sometimes, updating the BIOS can address compatibility issues.
    5. Run System Diagnostics:
      • Many laptops come with built-in diagnostics tools. Run a diagnostic test to check for hardware issues.
      • You can also use third-party diagnostic tools to check the health of your hardware components.
    6. Battery Health:
      • Ensure that your laptop battery is in good health. Some laptops may shut down if the battery is failing or not providing sufficient power.
    7. Check for Software Conflicts:
      • Close unnecessary background applications while gaming to reduce the load on the system.
      • Consider performing a clean boot to identify if any third-party software is causing conflicts.
    8. Contact Acer Support:
      • If the issue persists and your laptop is still under warranty, it's advisable to contact Acer support for assistance. They may be able to provide specific guidance or recommend further action.

Remember to back up your important data before attempting any major changes or updates to ensure you don't lose any information during the troubleshooting process.
