Hi,
I'm currently attempting to add an additional drive to my Predator PH315-53.
Kingston - NV1 PCIe NVMe M.2 1TB
BIOS version 2.04
I've enabled ACHI in the BIOS however, the above drive installed in M.2 slot 2 is not seen in the BIOS.
To test, I have swapped the factory Samsung drive out from Slot 1 and inserted the Kingston NV1 into Slot 1, BIOS will now see the Kingston NV1 Drive.
If I then add the Samsung drive into Slot 2.. BIOS will still see the Kingston NV1 but will not see the Samsung Drive.
If I remove the Kingston NV1 from Slot 1, and leave Samsung Drive in Slot 2.
Bios will not see this drive and no bootable media is found.
to recap
OK - Seen in BIOS
NG - Not seen in BIOS
Test 1
Slot 1 - Samsung Drive (Factory) = OK
Slot 2 - EMPTY
Test 2
Slot 1 - Samsung Drive (Factory) = OK
Slot 2 - Kingston NV1 = NG
Test 3
Slot 1 - Kingston NV1 = OK
Slot 2 - EMPTY
Test 4
Slot 1 - Kingston NV1 = OK
Slot 2 - Samsung Drive (Factory) = NG
I have also tested the above with a NVME SSD 960 EVO, which yielded the same result.
Am I missing something here? Driver perhaps?
