This has happened three times now.

Below is the screen shot from ACER Swift x14

When writing for a couple three minutes from laptop serial port I get the above error and the computer just reboots.

First and with the "What failed: plser64_1.sys" see and follow this link at solution "How to Fix the Lvrs64.sys BSOD in PC? [2 Ways]"

If the above doesn't fix the problem and the “IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL” do this:

The error message “IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL” usually indicates that there is an issue with a device driver, your device’s memory, or antivirus software on your device. Here are some things you can try to resolve the issue:

Ensure that your drivers are up-to-date by checking for the latest Windows updates. You can do this by selecting the Start button > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates. After updating, restart your device by selecting Start > Power > Restart 1.

Verify that your device has the latest updates.

Run the System File Checker utility to verify the integrity of your operating system. To do this, in Search, type in “CMD”, at the icon right click and choose Run as administrator, when the CMD window appears copy/paste the following commands one by one, and press Enter after each command:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    SFC /scannow

This process may take some time to complete. If none of the above steps work, you can try performing a system restore to an earlier point in time when the error was not occurring. To do this, press the Windows + I keyboard shortcut to launch the Settings app, type “System Restore” in the search bar, and then click on the result that says “Create a restore point”. Click on “System Restore” to launch the utility, select a restore point at a specific date and time when the error was not happening, and then click on “Finish”. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

That is likely an issue with the USB to serial cable driver. How old is the driver? USB to serial isn't used much any more and drivers for them tend to be pretty old…
