After a short power cut, my laptop and Acer monitor rebooted. unfortunately the monitor starts up but flashes "No signal" and goes into sleep mode. If I remove the HDMI cable it will come up "cable not connected". I have used two different cables, both with the same result.

I have searched nearly all day for a solution but an getting nothing but frustrated. I'm not computer literate so would appreciate some very simple instructions if anyone can help.
