My nitro 5 is no longer charging when plugged in.

hi,

My laptop is not charging even when it is plugged in. The charge was getting low so I plugged it, but the light showing that it is powered didn't light up.
I made sure everything was well connected and nothing happened. I also went and bought a new charger and it worked for about 4 hours before the same thing happened.
Is it a common problem?

If your Acer Nitro 5 is no longer charging even when plugged in, it could be due to various reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check the Power Outlet and Cable:
      • Ensure that the power outlet is functioning by plugging in another device.
      • Make sure the power cable is securely connected to both the power outlet and the laptop.
    2. Inspect the Charger:
      • Examine the charger for any visible damage, frayed wires, or bent pins.
      • Try using a different charger that is known to be working and compatible with your laptop.
    3. Reset the Battery:
      • Shut down your laptop.
      • Unplug the power cable.
      • Remove the laptop battery (if it's removable).
      • Hold down the power button for about 15-20 seconds.
      • Reconnect the battery and power cable, then try turning on your laptop.
    4. Update Battery Drivers:
      • Go to "Device Manager" on your laptop.
      • Find the "Batteries" section and expand it.
      • Right-click on each item under "Batteries" and select "Update driver."
    5. BIOS Update:
      • Check Acer's official website for any BIOS updates for your Acer Nitro 5 model.
      • If there's an update, follow the instructions provided to update the BIOS.
    6. Check for Physical Damage:
      • Inspect the charging port on your laptop for any physical damage or debris.
      • If possible, try charging your laptop with another cable to eliminate the possibility of a faulty charging port.
    7. Perform a Power Reset:
      • Shut down your laptop.
      • Disconnect the power cable.
      • Remove the laptop battery (if removable).
      • Hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds.
      • Reconnect the battery and power cable, then try turning on your laptop.
    8. Contact Acer Support:
      • If none of the above steps resolves the issue, it's advisable to contact Acer's customer support or take your laptop to an authorized service center for further assistance.

Replace the battery if it is more than 3 years old and the capacity (in Windows Battery Report) is showing diminishing capacity over the last 3 days. Also use a 180W adapter instead of 135W.
