Hi everywherefastnet. No light anywhere that I've found. Looks dead to me. you tube peeps all hit the top last button (circle with arrow at 12 o'clock). Is that the power button? All instructions say not to turn "puter on during very first charge, but how do I know WHEN it's fully charged?

Looks like your 3-pin AC power adapter plug is not fully inserted in the adapter inlet or the wall outlet is not having power. Don't use AC plug adapters (3 to 2 pin) or extension cords with the power adapter and keep the AC cord short (don't use extra-long power cords). Make sure the DC barrel pin is the correct size for your laptop DC port and fully inserted till the hear it click. There should be an amber LED charge light coming on when you insert the power adapter barrel plug in the DC port of your laptop and check that the adapter is working (measure the output with a voltmeter, 19 Volt DC).

It depends on the actual model of computer you have, there have been a lot of different Aspire 1 models over the years. In almost all cases there is a battery status light that comes on amber when you plug the charger in, and changes to blue when fully charged. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like A1xxx-xxx-xxxx.

If your laptop comes with a separate power adapter, it may have its own LED indicator to show whether it is receiving power from the outlet. If the power adapter's LED is on, it suggests that power is reaching the laptop and it is likely charging.
