Hey, recently I bought an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58, and I've tried recently to unplug the charger my system fully turns off. Then I have to reboot with the charger in for it to work. This has become annoying for gaming as if the charger gets bumped it will turn off. How can I fix this?

The new battery was not properly registered by your system, a new battery or clean install of Windows or BIOS update requires one full charge cycle to be registered by BIOS and MS ACPI battery control drivers, I recommend you update BIOS to version 2.10 dated 2023/09/01, just click on this link if you don't have this version installed yet: https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_2.10_A_A.zip?acerid=638291588901469648&Step1=&Step2=&Step3=NITRO%20AN515-58&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6 and update Windows11 23H2 to build: 22631.2792. Then uninstall these 2 battery drivers in Device manager and just reboot:

Disable both Hibernate and Fast Startup in Windows11 Power Plan (option: Change what Closing the lid does). Then shut down the system completely, disconnect external monitors and all USB devices and perform the full charge cycle procedure: Charge the laptop till the amber charge LED turns blue, wait 5 minutes and boot to Windows, unplug the power adapter and work with the laptop till it turns itself off (Power Plan will shut down the system when the battery has been drained to 2-3% battery charge), plug-in the power adapter. don't use the laptop and charge till the amber charge LED turns blue again and wait 5 minutes. That's it.
If the problem persists, I recommend bringing the laptop and adapter to Acer Services in your country for checking or return it to the retailer and demand a new laptop.
