So I have an old laptop (Acer Aspire something5) and there was a lot of problems. The first problem was that part of the screen hinge was sticking out. I repaired it manually by removing the edges of the screen and moved the screen to the right place. Because of this, I can’t close the laptop or else it’ll go back. The other problem is that it won’t turn on. I’ve tried removing the battery and all that kind of stuff. I’m too scared to open it and I don’t know what’s the main problem.

Maybe this is the right time to buy a new laptop, good Windows11 entry-level laptops are for sale under $400, to repair your old laptop (new case and hinge assembly will cost $200+) 😉

Don't know whihc laptop you have, as your laptop model number is written on a sticker on the back of the laptop, after that take a caption or let us know what is written on that sticker, as there is a specific Model Number which for an Aspire laptop its either like 5750 or E ES V3 V5 etc or the newer Aspire laptops have a A31x-xx-xxxx or an A51x-xx-xxxx model numbers, so look that up.

You need to open the laptop otherwise you can't do anything. with the hinge you need to use hot glue melted with a solder gun or a butane troch up to 450C temp and glue the hinge in a sandwich type methos and let it dry completely with all components secured, which you do after you have fixed the laptops NO POWER issue, which the first thing you need to do is to do a hard reset and take the main battery out, disconnect the bios battery and shorts its +&- pins to reset the bios and take the ram out and leave the laptop like that overnight and then replace all components (with the ram and if you have 2x ram modules, only fit 1x ram module to see if any modules are faulty) and reboot the laptop and see if it boots. Dp all this and let us know if it works as you need to do this, as if your laptops don't boot then there are other issues that need looking at like the main power rail and its circuitries that could be shorted or your cpu or gpu could be burned.

The laptops case has been replaced, before the replacement there was a sticker showing the laptop model next to the trackpad and I think I remember it being an E5 of some sort. If I plug the charger in, No lights show up. I closed the laptop and I linked a picture of the broken hinge.

I also removed the battery. I haven’t tried the methods yet because I’m actually underage and my mom will kill me.
