Acer Nitro 5 AN515 58 710Q with 330w adapter, when I plug the charger into the socket, the electricity in my house immediately goes off. But when I turned the electiricity back on, the charger could work normally without me unplugging it before turning the electricity back on. I want to know where this electrical problem is, I think this is not in the electrical problem of my house which is not strong, because it also happens at my friend's house, is there a possibility that the adapter is shorted? Or is my socket less able to deliver electricity to the adapter?

Sorry I don't have electrical knowledge

16.9A 330W can gave a huge surge by the charger capacitor when connected to any household electric outlet, you need a HD 20 Amp wall socket with thick wiring used for washing machines, etc. Best to first insert the 3-pin adapter AC power plug in a grounded wall socket without an extension cord or plug converter and then plug in the DC barrel plug into the DC port of your laptop and boot. These power surges last only for a split second and are completely harmless but can cause hazardous sparks.

IMO this 330W adapter is a bit of an overkill as your laptop model is rated up to 280 Watt maximum, in fact it is shipped with only a 180W power adapter:

Your model Nitro AN515 58 710Q must be a last model and has the upper specs of the An515-58 gaming laptop for Acer to supply it with a 330W adapter charger and it needs a high-power 330W charger, as the rest of the AN515-58 models were release with either a 180W / 230W or a 280W adapter.

Do NOT reduce its adapter charger to a 180W as you will have problems with your laptop not having enough power delivered to it and it will not to function to its fullest performance and it will also switch off, be cautious as you can cause damage to your laptop components!

These are all the Acer oem adaptor chargers listed for the AN515-58 laptop from its service guide:

Thanks! that was helpful explanation, When I bought this laptop I got this 330w adapter in the box. Therefore, I thought the adapter I got from the box was as much power as needed from my laptop. So can I use this 180w adapter on this laptop? Is that enough for a performance boost when the mode is plugged in?
