Do Acer laptops have a high-amperage charge protection feature?"

1st Question
If I were to use a charger with a slightly higher amp rating, can Acer laptops compensate for the excess amperage? For instance, using a 3.42-amp charger on a 2.37-amp laptop, will my laptop utilize the entire 3.42-amp rating for charging the battery, or only the required amperage?

If you are talking about Thunderbolt and a USB-C charger, you can safely use a 90W charger even as the manual states up to 65W PD. With barrel plugs adapters (bricks) I have seen many using 180W or even 230W adapters while the laptop comes with 135W adapters and 90W adapters are used a lot instead of 65W adapters recommended by Acer, but the output voltage must be the same. If the barrel pin is identical (fully compatible) and clicks when completely inserted in the DC port of your laptop you will be OK. I don't know if Acer MOBO/PSUs have power protection, adapters do have this feature.
