Bi-Directional HDMI 2.1 Switch does not work when the lid is closed

Hi All,

I just purchased this switch from Amazon:

I intended to use this to switch from IN = laptop to OUT1 = Computer monitor / OUT2 = TV for Gaming.

The problem I am having is when I hook everything up it works (TV on Laptop on) but as soon as I close the lid for the laptop the screen goes black on TV and when I open the lid for laptop the screen is black as well and the only way, I can recover is to force a shut down.

Has anyone come across this situation? Can seem to figure it out. To also note I connect a HDMI directly to TV and it works like a charm.

Use the MS guide of "How to use an external monitor with your laptop closed" as that should fix this problem.
