Hello there! I have an issue with my laptop and it keeps on happing more frequently. Basically, when I try to turn on my laptop by pressing the power button NOTHING HAPPENS. The screen is off, the illuminated keyboard is off, I hear no sounds coming from my laptop. Usually, I try to charge the laptop until the battery light becomes blue. If I try to turn it on after that, It usually turns on. I checked the battery health using comand promt and an app I found online and the battery looks fine 98,5% health. Today, before it turned on I did a battery reset by pressing on the pin button that's in the back of it. What might be the cause? I'm afraid of waking up tomorrow with a useless laptop. Thank you.

The symptoms that you are getting could be either form a faulty keyboard power key and its switch or your laptop needs a Hard Reset and to do that you need to remove the eleven (11) T6 screws securing the lower case and open the back cover and take the main battery out, then disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery (see caption below) and short the mobo plug battery +&- pins to reset the CMOS and then leave the laptop like that for 15min and replace all components back again and reboot laptop, as this reset should unfreeze either the IO, Chipset or BIOS chips of this laptop and make your laptop's power button work, if it doesn't then its the power key/switch that the power key is associated with is faulty and needs replacing or you have some shorted or burned out circuitries on the main power rail traces that need changing and for that you need to take your laptop to an experienced technician in your area. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Also be aware that just clicking the battery reset button doesn't actually reset the battery, it just disconnects it momentarily, similar to what happens when you do a long press of the power. To actually reset you have to disconnect everything, including the power, then press and hold the button for 15-30 seconds. Release the button and wait for 15-30 minutes to verify all residual electricity has bled off, the reconnect only the charger and wait for a full battery indication. Once the light is showing blue go ahead and turn things back on and see if it made a difference. The newer batteries are better than they used to be about not getting their internal data corrupted, but that doesn't mean there are no bugs…
