I own a ACER ASPIRE 315-51 and my USB 3.0 port had a shortcut caused by a faulty wire.
When I switched on my laptop I got a message that this port was consuming too much current and was subsequentially switched off.
Because I now know what caused this shortcut I want to turn this port on again because my external backup disk uses this port so I can no longer read or write to this disk.
I measured the voltage on the +5V pin and it has a voltage of 0.53 Volts.
The data lines seem to be active.
Can I turn this 3.0 USB port on again and how do I do this?
Thank you.
