I bought a laptop nitro 5 with i9-12900h rtx 4060 yesterday and I have two problems that make me want to return it.
The first problem is poor sound. I read that it can be fixed by DTS and Realtek Audio Console, but I don't have any installed on my computer. I tried to download drivers from Acer and I don't know if I succeeded because these applications still don't exist.
The second problem is the battery - when browsing the Internet, it only lasts two hours in the nitrosense application, the graphics card runs at zero percent. What could be the reason for the battery dropping so quickly?
Can someone help and write how to easily fix it?

"Poor" sound is highly subjective; what I call good sound you may find not loud enough. If audio volume is too low, turn on the equalizer in Windows Media Player (right click) or in DTS. Alternatively get a BT headset with a build-in amplifier. Playback video sites online often have simple embedded players, and you can get extensions for Edge to improve audio quality. If you use internal speakers select Movie in Realtek Audio Console instead of Music as that is a bit louder, also turn on "Enhancements" in Window Sound settings. DTS is integrated with the RTK audio driver and RTK Audio console for Windows11 is best installed (free) from the Windows store, look for "Realtek Audio Control". Check Device manager if you have yellow exclamation marks in "Sound video and game controllers". If you see duplicate RTK drivers or Unknown (Greyed out) devices, best to uninstall all that. To reinstall the Realtek drivers best to download free DDU and uninstall RTK drivers in Safe Mode with DDU (see link), just reboot and Windows11 will install the best sound drivers for your laptop. You should not install anything manually but leave driver maintenance to Windows11 including updating.

2 hours battery life when browsing online and screen brightness set at 100% is normal if you have programs running at the background and turbo boost on (with external monitors/USB devices). Choose Balanced Power plan, turn off your boosters, disconnect all external devices and uninstall all 3rd-party bloatware that is running at the background inc. AV, browsers, trial versions and ACC+Quick Access or just boot to Safe Mode and do some simple Notepad work, offline gaming and system maintenance (Storage Sense) and you will get 5-6 hours out of a full battery. Are you perhaps using battery limiters like the 80% maximum battery charge in Acer Care Center?

Don’t touch the sound on the Nitro 5 laptops as the sound drivers are interlinked with many functions on this laptop and there is not just one audio driver that controls sound, below is all the audio drivers from a Nitro AN515-56 that I’m using

As you can see above, there are many audio drivers that interlink with the audio on a Nitro laptop and if you update one of these drivers then your audio will be affected. Leave the audio driver update(s) up to windows update. DTS and Realtek Audio Console do nothing the DTS sound enhancer without subscription does virtually nothing, use the free sound enhancer from FXSound as that is what I use on my Nitro laptop, and it works and improves sound quality exceptionally.

The battery life on these laptops you can expect the following:

    • During gaming, when all hardware components are working at full capacity, you can expect around 1.5 hours of battery life.
    • For general tasks such as web browsing, word processing, or video watching, the battery should last approximately 4 to 5 hours with screen brightness set at 50% and the Windows power plan on "Balanced".

Remember that while the Acer Nitro 5 offers decent battery life for a gaming laptop, it’s always a good idea to keep your charger handy, especially during intense gaming sessions.
