Problems with spin 5 SP513-52N sleep mode

By looking at other community posts it seems i'm not the only one facing this issue with this laptop and other ACER laptops. Mine tries to go into sleep mode (screen goes black), but it doesn't fully go into sleep mode, because the fan cotinues to spin and the led on the side stays blu, when this happens it is impossible to wake it up, neither with the keyboard nor with the touchpad and the only thing that I can do is to force shut it down by pressing the power button and lose all my work. I tried updating the BIOS to the lates version, disabling fast boot, switching to linux but nothing worked. nowadays i just set it to never go to sleep and i just keep it charging but it's really frustrating, I've had this laptop since 2018 and in all these years I never figured out how to solve this problem. I checked ACER community but the answers from other users or ACER was always useless. I hope to receive some meaningful help. Thanks

Lots of computers develop power/sleep related problems. In most instances these are localised.

The SP513-52N does not officially support Linux, only Windows 10 x64. So troubleshooting this would be difficult. If you ever move back to Windows 10 we able able to further troubleshoot the issue.

This is a Windows10 laptop, if you upgraded to W11 the system may not be updated properly and you will have issues with W11 S0 Modern Standby (legacy "Sleep mode"). If you are still on Windows10 and fully updated, disable Hibernate and Fast Startup in Power Plan "Choose what opening the lid does" and reset the power plan to factory defaults. (Fast Boot is BIOS).

Only these Spin5 models are supported for W11 upgrade.

The 2 issues you mention are not related, turning off the screen conditions are set in Power Plan advanced setting that is not sleep mode, the laptop functions fully and screen will turn on when pressing any key. The keyboard also has a Fn key for this.

The sleep mode is triggered by Windows Modern Standby protocol, the Acer Sleep button (F1?) and driver setting (Power Management) that started in W10 version 22H2. If wake from sleep does not work, disable the Power Management option in all adapters: "Allow the computer to turn off this device to safe power" in Device Manager. Also disable the "Selective USB Suspend" in advanced Power Plan settings. When the laptop still won't wake from sleep you either have a registry problem (Reset this PC to fix), corrupted system files (run the 2 commands below) or a program that interferes/blocks the waking. To find the service that interferes do a Clean (Safe) boot with MSconfig.exe, disable all non-Windows services and Apply, reboot normally and observe the wake process, when no issues enable the services one by one till it won't wake anymore and you have found the cause of your problem.

To refresh the system image, go online and paste this in the command Prompt opened as Administrator and press Enter:
Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth if that hangs or fails, rerun till you get "Successfully completed".
Don't force shut down by pressing the power button as that corrupts system files, pressing the Esc key is OK. There are other ways: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/abort-system-shutdown-windows and in Task Manager end the process that hangs or pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on the power icon at the bottom right. After DISM has completed refreshing your system image, type this in the same command prompt window: SFC /scannow, (note the space after SFC). This will repair your system, must complete with "Found no integrity violations" rerun SFC till you see this.

Almost always that type of behavior can be traced to an app that doesn't handle sleep mode. If the issue is there both in Windows and Linux however it's more likely hardware.
