Hi,

I would like to upgrade this computer currently equipped with HDD + DVD-ROM, and to add a SSD.

Is there any additional connector inside the PC for SATA & power supply ? Do I need any adaptator to connect a 2.5" SATA SSD ?

Regards,

Yes, you will need a SATA cable to connect the 2.5" SATA SSD to the motherboard of your Acer X3400 desktop. You can buy a SATA cable from Amazon or other online stores. You will also need a 2.5" to 3.5" hard drive adapter bracket to mount the HDD in the desktop case. You can find one on Amazon as well.

To install the HDD, you will need to open the desktop case and locate an empty 3.5" drive bay. You will need to attach the HDD to the adapter bracket with screws and then slide the bracket into the drive bay. You will need to connect one end of the SATA cable to the HDD and the other end to a free SATA port on the motherboard. Browse this forum for more detailed instructions or wait for others to reply.

The Samsung Evo 870 SSD 1TB is a good SSD for this desktop.
