I'm not sure why I can find this topic discussed all across the web. But nothing on the Acer website or forums shows up.

I have deployed 150+ Acer Chromebox CXI3 devices connected to 65" ViewSonic ViewBoards. Today I have one that has been working fine. At startup this morning in displayed this error: Oops! The system failed to establish the device installation-time attributes lock.

I used the Chromebook recovery utility to create a bootable USB drive and reinstalled the ChromeOS. Installed the latest update ChromeOS version119.0.6045.158

Left the device on my helpdesk for the entire school day. It remained at the login window until about an hour before dismissal. I planned to return it to the classroom once the school day was over and reconnect it to the ViewBoard that it has been used with since the beginning of the 2021-22 school year.

But then I look over at it and it is at the enrollment or get started window and now displaying the same error.

Is it time to plan on replacing these devices already? Should they be frozen at an earlier chromeOS version?

Any other ideas or suggestions?

That error only shows up on enterprise installations, I believe. It's related to the TPM security and domain credentials. You could try removing the device from the domain then re-joining…

I will give this a try when we return to school on Monday. My Google search does not find the term "TPM Security and domain credentials". What are they? How would I check to see if something else could or would be interfering?
