Acer Swift Edge OLED Notebook - Battery discharge level

Hi Peeps, I just gotten my new Swift Edge OLED Notebook from Acer recently

A quick concern here, when I powered down the machine for a few days - shut down, and the screen shows that the battery just discharged itself without me switching the machine on.

Is this normal?

I have a 2023 15.6" OLED with identical configuration (ASUS) but my battery does not discharge at all when shutdown.

The discharge should be near zero so you have something connected to your laptop or you are in hybrid (fast Startup) and sleep/Modern Stand-by mode (S3) but not completely shut down. There are several threads on this forum with the same issue in Windows11. First you want to make sure your system is up to date: Windows11 23H2 build: 22631.2715, then check if your BIOS is the last version. Disable "USB selective suspend" in your Power Plan with Hibernate and Fast Startup. Check also what others tried on this and other forums. https://www.elevenforum.com/t/enable-or-disable-usb-selective-suspend-in-windows-11.10251/

Uninstall Acer Quick Access or disable the USB port charging when power is off in QA. Wi-Fi adapters are notorious (Wake on Lan setting in BIOS) to be on stand-by when shutdown, check the properties tab Power Management for BT and Network adapters and USB ports in Device Manager, disable the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device……"

If you have quick boot enabled in Windows, and it's enabled by default, some things will stay enabled even when the OS has been 'shut down'. Also IIRC there's one USB port that stays up so you can charge devices with it when the system is off. Either of those will give you a slow drain on the battery when off, until the battery eventually drops low enough to trigger the full power off. It's only an issue if you are going to be leaving it off for long periods of time, and then disabling those features will help.

I am planning to head out for a vacation soon, and in that case, if the system triggered a full power off once the battery drops below / low enough, won't it impact the battery ?

And for me to disable the quick boot / fast startup, I believe it would be under the Device Manager. Looking for the settings of the drivers - for power management

Settings, Power Options, not Device Manager.
