My A515-46 Lost Bluetooth capability after a recent Windows Update (Nov 2023)

I have tried rolling back recent Windows updates and reinstalling the BT drivers from the Acer Website, but still no joy. Any idea how to solve this problem short of uninstalling Windows and starting fresh (last, last resort!)?

During this troubleshooting process and uninstalling updates I lost Wifi capability for awhile too. It came back after reinstalling on of the updates. Here is a nearly complete list (I think I forgot to write one down) of the updates concerned:

KB5031455, KB5030651, KB5032190, KB50332007

Thanks in advance for any solutions or helpful hints!

Dan…

    Hi Dan,

KB5031455 is a September .NET Framework update, none of these W11 updates you mention affect(ed) BT or WLAN adapters/drivers, I keep track (almost weekly) of W11 updates/upgrades/issues on Elevenforum (by Shawn Brink) and there is no mention anywhere about Blue Tooth issues. You should now be on W11 version 23H2 build 22631.2715?

I recommend that you refresh your system image and check for system corruption, something I do after each Windows update:
Make sure internet is working and open the Command Prompt as administrator, paste this line:
Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth that should complete OK, then run this command: SFC /scannow and that should complete with "Found no integrity violations" if system files were repaired rerun SFC till you get that.

Uninstall the BT and Wi-Fi drivers in Device manager and just reboot, don't install anything manually, Windows11 will install the correct drivers. 😉

Many thanks, Puraw. I'll give your suggestions a try and see how it goes. Last resort. I'll just use a BT dongle on the laptop when I need it. Better than reinstalling Windows! 🙄
