The following issue has occured two times. I leave my Aspire 5 plugged in to charge overnight and when I unplug it several hours later the bottom is hot to unusually warm. When I try to open the computer, nothing happens. I have had to wait several hours for it to apparently cool down. I need to then plug the computer back in and recharge from 0%. When I first got this computer it only charged to about 85% (I believe), which was a factory setting. It will now attempt to charge to 100%. Do I need to reset the charge capacity to the factory setting, and if so how do I do that?

First we need to know the laptop model, is it Aspire 5 a515-54 and what is the model year 2019? Have you replaced the battery lately, a battery needs to be replaced after maximum 4 years, earlier if it was depleted to zero. Is this a replacement power adapter or the original adapter that came with the laptop, take a clear picture of the adapter so we can read the specifications. Reply with @Puraw at the top. Once we determined the battery and adapter with the plug are probably still OK we will advise how to reset BIOS, reinstall the MS ACPI battery drivers and do the Power Drain procedure. The overheating can only happen when the laptop is still on, either in Sleep or Hibernate mode and the fan is broken, so check if the fan is turning and blowing air, the vents may also be blocked by dirt, when did you open the laptop to clean the fan?

This is an Aspire 5 A515-56-53S3, Model number N20C5, model year 2023/03/25. This is JUST over one year old. I purchased it on November 8,2022 and have done nothing to it. I have not replaced a battery and have not opened the computer to clean the fan. I am not sure about the fan running. I can hear the fan when my ear is placed near the vent ports but I cannot feel any air flow. See attMikeached photos as requested. Thank you for your assistance.
