The Nitro AN515-56s USB charging port that provides 3A at 5V DC requires a power supply that can provide at least 15W of power. A 100W PD charger is capable of providing up to 20V at 5A, which is 100W of power. However, the charger will not provide more than 5V unless the device on the other end specifically requests it to do so. Therefore, a 100W PD charger will not charge a device that requires 3A at 5V DC any faster than a 15W charger would. Always use the charger and cable included with your PC as the AN515-56 oem charger is the best to charge the laptop. Btw I've got a Nitro AN515-56 and its 135W/16.5V charger is portable enough and the best for charging the laptop, I've never ever needed to have a USB-C charger to charge this laptop.

Yes, your laptop supports USB-C charging, you have 1 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps), Thunderbolt 4, with Power Delivery (PD). I recommend to use a 90-Watt laptop USB-C charger with a fixed USB-C HD power out cable, the smaller GaN universal USB-C chargers come without any USB-C cables. Any of these chargers will work with your laptop: https://www.zdnet.com/article/best-usb-c-laptop-charger/

The only USB-C Power Bank that I know of that managed to charge a large laptop battery is the 100-Watt Baseus Blade ($100)

It's important to note that Thunderbolt 4 and USB Power Delivery (PD) are different technologies, even though they share the same USB-C physical connector. While Thunderbolt 4 includes USB PD capabilities, not all USB PD devices are automatically compatible with Thunderbolt 4 ports. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Compatibility:
      • Ensure that your Acer Nitro 5 laptop's USB-C port supports Thunderbolt 4. Not all USB-C ports on laptops support Thunderbolt 4; some may only support USB PD.
      • Verify that your power bank is indeed Thunderbolt 4 compatible. Some power banks only support USB PD and may not be recognized by Thunderbolt 4 ports.
    2. Update Drivers and Firmware:
      • Make sure that your laptop's Thunderbolt 4 drivers are up to date. Check Acer's official website for any driver updates related to Thunderbolt or USB-C functionality.
      • Similarly, check if there are any firmware updates available for your power bank.
    3. Use the Right Cable:
      • Ensure that you are using a Thunderbolt 4-compatible cable. While USB-C cables may physically fit into the Thunderbolt 4 port, not all of them support Thunderbolt technology.
    4. Power Bank Settings:
      • Some power banks have multiple output modes. Check if your power bank has a specific Thunderbolt or high-power output mode, and ensure it is enabled.
    5. Check Power Bank Capacity:
      • Ensure that your power bank's power output is sufficient for your laptop's charging requirements. Some laptops, especially gaming laptops like the Acer Nitro 5, may have higher power requirements.
    6. Test with Other Devices:
      • If possible, try connecting your power bank to another Thunderbolt 4-enabled device to see if it is recognized. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your laptop or the power bank.
    7. Consult Manufacturer Support:
      • If the issue persists, contact Acer's support or the manufacturer of your power bank for assistance. They may be able to provide specific guidance based on the compatibility and specifications of your devices.

Remember that Thunderbolt 4 and USB PD can sometimes have compatibility challenges, and not all devices will work seamlessly together. Always refer to the user manuals and specifications of your laptop and power bank for accurate information on compatibility and proper usage.
