Hello dear Acer community. I recently purchased a new monitor Predator XB323QUNV - the monitor is great, but I noticed a small bulge where the proxisensor is. It's wide enough for dust to eventually start building up inside and would be hard to clean. If it try to push it gently towards the screen, nothing happens.

Is this normal or a manufacturing defect? Thanks in advance. I will attach a picture.

If it try to push it gently towards the screen, nothing happens.

The bezel or screen usually has molded clips and catches every few cms around the perimeter of the screen frame. The clip might be visible by peering down the bulge opening with a flashlight. Place your thumb directly atop the clip areas and fingers behind the screen. Then simply pinch or squeeze the clip & catches together. Don't be afraid to pinch it kind of hard so the clip is caught by the catch as long as you're pinching bezel & frame and not the LCD display itself.

Great, thanks for the expert advice. One problem thou, the proxisensor is right where the bulge is. I should probably not touch it?

Have you peered down other parts of the bulged crevice area yet with a flashlight to look for clips? They're NOT going to be where the sensor is located. Only pinch directly over the clips if you can see them.

First of all thank you guys so much for trying to help me. You are AWESOME!. Anyway I tried to light up the clips with a flashlight, but I can't really see anything in the gap

. I will attach a picture of what I see.

OK. We'll then have to work blindly.

Start pinching with both hands close together to one side of sensor bulge. Pinch your way toward the biggest part of the bulge —— but not directly sensor itself —- to narrow the gap & try to engage the clips.

If, after using a fair amount of pinching pressure, the bezel simply springs back without engaging the clips to keep it in place, you shouldn't go any further.

If the vendor's return merchandise authorization (RMA) period hasn't expired yet (usually only a few weeks), you should ask for an exchange or refund ASAP. Otherwise, you'd have to decide if the apparent defect is serious (or bothersome) enough to go through the hassle of warranty service. If it was mine, I'd probably ignore it as a small cosmetic defect not worth the hassle as long as I was satisfied with its functionality.

Thank you JackE for your expert opinion, time you are taking to help me and overall kindness. I will try to sort it out over the weekend. Are you sure if I start pinching that the bezel wont damage the screen?

Thanks again for your amazing help,

    With respect,

It shouldn't. But if you need 100% certainty that it won't, then don't even try it.
