Acer es1-512 clicks when turning on

My Acer es1-512 laptop was blinking an orange light and wouldn't turn on only clicked. So, I found out how to reset the battery by using the battery reset button at the back. I fully charged the laptop and now the light is blue, however when I try to turn it on it still makes a clicking noise and a soft grinding noise.

Can I fix it myself?

This is an 8-year old laptop and the HDD probably died, I read this model comes with a 500GB WD Scorpio Blue with a 5400RPM spinning speed. You should replace the HDD for a 1TB 2.5" Sata-3 Samsung 870 EVO SSD and Clean Install Windows10 on it with a USB flash drive and ISO image or consider bringing the laptop to a reputable PC repair shop to do that for you. Note that also the battery needs to be replaced after maximum 5-6 years. This may be a good time to look for a new budget Windows11 laptop with a 12th Gen. CPU, on a sale. 😉
