Hello, all -

I'm new to the forum. Thank you in advance for any help you may offer.

I want to upgrade the memory of my Spin 5 laptop. The online tools at memory providers (such as Memorystock.com) indicate that I have two memory slots available, one of which is occupied by an 8MB soldered-in-place card, while the other is upgradeable with a removeable card. Thus, I bought an 8MB DDR4 SODIMM card from Crucial (pictured).

However, upon removing the rear cover, I can't seem to locate where the upgradeable memory slot is. Can someone please point to it in the photo I uploaded?

Thanks!
Jeff

Yes, the confusion arises because there are two different memory configurations supported by the motherboard. They can have 8GB or 16GB installed at the factory, but have no provisions for user expansion. All memory is soldered in…

Thanks for the information. So I take it that the online memory upgrade tools can be inaccurate? Here is an example from Memorystock.com for my SP515-51N-51GH that indicates there is indeed an upgradeable slot. The moral is to look for a slot before buying, I suppose.

    Best,
