Overclocking a CPU can lead to several damage to your laptop especially if you don't have appropriate cooling, you need to increase cooling of the CPU or GPU accordingly if you overclock, and if this is not done it will damage the hardware. Here are some of the most common and other things that it can do:

    1. Reduced lifespan of hardware components: Overclocking increases the temperature of the CPU, which can cause it to wear out faster and reduce its lifespan.
    2. System instability: Overclocking can cause your system to become unstable and crash frequently.
    3. Increased power consumption: Overclocking can increase the power consumption of your CPU, which can lead to higher electricity bills and increased heat generation.
    4. Voided warranty: Overclocking your CPU can void its warranty, which means that you will not be able to get it repaired or replaced if it gets damaged.

It’s important to note that while overclocking can improve the performance of your CPU or GPU, it also comes with risks and limitations. If you’re not an experienced user, it’s best to avoid overclocking altogether.
