Hi, I have previously sent this computer in for repair as the screen stopped working, it is now doing it again.

My touch screen is blank, but when I attach an external screen it works fine. In display settings it doesn't acknowledge the existence of the onboard touchscreen.

Is there an easy fix, or I need another repair?

Also the charging port no longer works so I am using a USB-c charger now. It is a really good laptop but I am not very impressed with such an expensive machine having so many faults. Of course it is now out of warranty so will probably cost a fortune to repair.

Are you able to help please?

There are typically two things that can go wrong to give the black display, though rarely other can happen. Either the cable running between the display and the motherboard has issues (connector or internal to the cable) or the backlight on the display has gone out. If it's the backlight then shining a flashlight on the screen at an angle will show faint traces of what's trying to be shown. The fix for that is almost always a screen swap. If it's the cable then the first step is to try and reseat it several time to help wipe any corrosion off the contacts. This is most common in environments where there's higher humidity or contaminants. The next step is to try and replace the cable. Unfortunately with your model the cable is not available from Acer separately from the display. Third party vendors that are parting out older machines might have it separate, or they might have the whole assembly at a decent price.
